GLOUCESTER — Fire Chief Eric Smith is pleased to announce that the Gloucester Firefighters Association is co-sponsoring the Gloucester Community Blood drive this August, and encourages residents to take part and give blood.
Saturday, Aug. 17, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Each year, the Gloucester Firefighters Association partners with the Sawyer Free Library, American Red Cross, Addison Gilbert Hospital and Jalapenos Restaurant to hold a community blood drive.
“Giving blood is so incredibly important to help our hospitals continue the life saving work they do every day, and we look forward to this event every year to bring the community together and donate,” Chief Smith said. “We encourage residents who are able and willing to donate blood to join us this month.”
